Kauai is one beautiful island and has many great reefs. One of the best reefs is at Tunnels Beach. Tunnels Beach has amazing views. This beach is very nice in the summer because it is easier to snorkel with fewer waves. Our opinion is that if you don’t like snorkeling, I would recommend going to a different beach. This is because there is a little bit of shallow water but then it goes right to the reef. This may be good with kids that can’t swim in the water and just like to play in the shallow water.
Laie or more commonly known as Pounder’s Beach is popular for having a trampoline in its shallow water. Pounder’s Beach is on the island of Oahu. The beach has a river near the ocean, so many people like to jump from a rope swing into the water. The white-sand beach is a favorite between locals and tourists. The year-round waves are perfect for surfing and boogie boarding. But be careful, in winter these waves get larger and harsher.
A beautiful beach on the island of Kauai has something unique to offer. The Glass Beach’s sand is mixed small pieces of glass. An accident in the past caused the glass to fill the beach up. Over the years the glass eroded and mixed in with the sand. The beach is in the more industrial part of Kauai. Our opinion is to not go there. Most glass doesn’t look like glass but actually looks like sand. Also near the beach, there are a lot of gas tanks and more industrial things. We think it is best to just take a walk on the beach rather than swim in it.
